Empowering
Women

Women are the backbone of South Sudanese families and communities. MSA invests in women — especially women IDPs — through business training, start-up capital, top-up capital and homestead gardening.

The result is not just income — it is confidence, dignity, and the ability to provide for children. Women who have been through MSA programs have started tailoring shops, small retail businesses, restaurants, and agricultural enterprises.

Business Skills Training

Training on small business management, bookkeeping and market awareness.

Start-up Capital

Initial capital for women (especially IDPs) to launch small businesses.

Top-up Capital

Additional capital for women already running very small businesses — to help them grow.

Our Approach

How We Build Resilience

A four-step approach that moves families from relief to sustainable independence.

1

Assess

We work with communities to understand what skills are in demand, what businesses are viable, and what barriers hold people back.

2

Train

We deliver practical, hands-on training in skills that lead directly to employment or self-employment — no theory without application.

3

Fund

We provide start-up and top-up capital for women and youth who complete our programs — so they can actually put their new skills to work.

4

Support

We accompany graduates with mentoring, market linkages and follow-up visits — because starting a business is only the first step.
