Youth-Friendly
VCT Services

Since 2013, MSA has operated a Youth-Friendly Voluntary Counselling and Testing (VCT) centre at the MSA compound in Maridi — providing confidential HIV testing, counselling and referrals.

Every client who tests positive is referred to the ART clinic at the main hospital, and to date all our HIV positive clients are enrolled on treatment. This wrap-around approach ensures that testing leads to real, life-sustaining care.

Confidential Counselling

Every client receives pre- and post-test counselling in a safe, youth-friendly space.

HIV Testing

Free, rapid and confidential HIV testing available to all.

Referral to ART

Positive clients are referred to the main hospital ART clinic and enrolled on treatment.

Our Approach

How We Deliver Health

A four-step approach that ensures every intervention is confidential, sustainable and community-driven.

1

Engage

We work with youth, schools, community leaders and health facilities to identify health priorities and design services that fit local realities.

2

Deliver

Through our VCT centre, community outreaches and school clubs, we deliver the services where youth already are — reducing barriers to access.

3

Refer

Positive clients and complex cases are referred to the ART clinic, hospitals and partner facilities — closing the loop from testing to treatment.

4

Sustain

We train peer educators, strengthen school clubs and build community capacity so that awareness and support continue long after each intervention.
