Where the story began

Who We Are

A Journey of Growth & Purpose Since 2000

MSA (Mission for Sustainable Advancement) is a legally registered National Organisation operating in South Sudan. Our story began in 2000 as the Maridi Students Association — a grassroots initiative of young people determined to give back to their community through education.

In 2005, as our reach expanded beyond schools into health, protection and community resilience, we transformed into the Maridi Service Agency. Over the next decade, we built trust with local authorities, schools, hospitals and community leaders across Western Equatoria and beyond.

In 2021, reflecting our growth into a multi-sector national organisation, we became the Mission for Sustainable Advancement — keeping the MSA name that communities had come to know and trust. Today we operate from a Head Office in Juba and field offices in Maridi, Aweil and Yei, serving thousands of beneficiaries every year.
